Fare Share Approach
NACDOR advocates for FAIR SHARE to the Socially Excluded in India’s Economy. The FAIR SHARE means the economic resources fairly distributed. It believes in constructive criticism and engagement leading to workable solutions. With this attitude and approach, NACDOR engages with the private sector organisations and their associations enabling both, the Community and the Corporate, working together with a win-win approach.
This approached has helped NACDOR and the Private Sector both in breaking the impasse between the Private Sector and the Dalit Community. While ideological differences on mechanisms to achieving Fair Share for the Dalits continue to exist, NACDOR and organisations of Business and Industry, especially Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII ), have agreed to continue the dialogue to improve the share of the Dalits in jobs and supply chain.
With its positive outlook and continuous dialogue, NACDOR has been successful with the Private Sector Companies and their associations in accepting Affirmative Action and many of such companies are now consciously addressing the participation and benefits to the SCs/STs in their venture and CSR programmes. Many large corporations have agreed to prefer the SC/ST candidate over the equally qualified non-SC/ST candidates.
NACDOR is now progressively working to evolve a system of monitoring the CSR initiatives with the perspective of the Dalits and how CSRs initiatives of the corporate world could possibly help to increase the share of the Dalits in economy. NACDOR has also began to collaborate with Private Sector entities to promote and sustain the participation of the Dalits in private sector organised technical and soft skill building programs and other business activities.
